Local Values: Hard Work and Family

Wendy Andre is the founder and principal attorney of the Law Office of Wendy Andre, PC, located in the heart of Downtown New Bedford. Ms. Andre has been a New Bedford resident for over 24 years. A first-generation Portuguese immigrant, she put herself through college and law school while working and raising her family. Ms. Andre is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts (B.A. summa cum laude) and Roger Williams University School of Law (J.D. cum laude).

Committed to the Community

While attending law school, Ms. Andre served as assistant editor for the Roger Williams University Law Review. She also participated in the Community Justice Clinic providing legal representation to indigent community members in Rhode Island Family Court. Her dedication to the cause earned her the Roger Williams University School of Law Public Service Award, an honor given to one graduating law student showing the greatest devotion to public service.

But her community involvement did not end with her education. A member of the Governance Committee of the Women's Fund, she also provides pro-bono legal services through The New Center for Legal Advocacy, an organization committed to providing services to indigent clients. Ms. Andre is also a member of the Child and Family Law Division Trial Panel of the Committee for Public Counsel Services.

Modern Multitasking

In addition to running her practice she makes time for her family, serving on the PTO at her children's school. An avid marathon runner and outdoor sportswoman, she also coaches the school's track club.

Ms. Andre is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar and is also a member of the Bar of the Federal District Court for Massachusetts. She is a member of the Bristol County Bar Association, New Bedford Bar Association, Massachusetts Bar Association and Women's Bar Association.
